Hi! I'm Aidan DeVaney, the developer and creator behind Fathership. I'm a third year Computer Science major with a Technology Management minor at UC Davis.
About the Project
Thank you for checking out Fathership!
This is a passion project I was inspired to develop to give kids and others who may not have had a father figure in their lives a chance to talk to one, anytime.
As an only child in a single parent household, I personally felt the need for this concept but was suprised to find nothing readily available.
So, I decided to change that.
As a passion project, I've been developing this in my free time, learning as I go, and covering all the costs associated with it.

Now for the nerdy stuff...
This is a web application full-stack developed by me using Ruby on Rails and Tailwinds CSS in my tech stack. It's supported by PostgreSQL in AWS RDS and Redis services on the backend, hosted on Heroku, and with OpenAI's ChatGPT API powering the AI you know and love.
